Contact
macrochef@macrochef.site — for anything at all: billing, a recipe that looks wrong, an account you cannot get into, or a request for the data we hold about you.
It helps to say which one you are using, the website or the iPhone app, and the email address on your account. Please do not send your password; nobody here will ever ask for it.
What costs money and what does not
Browsing is free and needs no account: every recipe's photo, name and full macros, the collection pages, the list of training splits and the index of all 67 movements.
MacroChef Plus opens the rest — all 111 recipes with their methods and gram weights, the week planner, the grocery list, portion scaling, cook mode, and the whole training side including the session runner, the rest timer, the training calendar and the log.
Plus costs $5.99 a month and starts with a 7-day free trial. It is sold through the iPhone app only — the website does not take payments. The subscription still opens the website: sign in here with the same account and everything is unlocked.
Cancelling
Open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then MacroChef. Apple owns the subscription, so that is the only place it can be cancelled — the app cannot do it and neither can we.
If you subscribed through this website before October 2026, when it still sold directly, sign in and open the billing page from Account, or write to us and we will sort it out.
Cancelling during the free trial costs you nothing, as long as it is done at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
I paid and it still says I need to subscribe
A purchase is confirmed by the store, but access is granted by our server, and the two do not happen at the same instant — the store has to tell us first. That usually takes a few seconds and occasionally a minute.
If it has been longer: make sure you are signed in to the same account you subscribed with, since the subscription is attached to the account rather than to the phone. In the app, open the paywall and tap Restore purchases. If it still has not appeared, write to us with the email on the account and we will fix it by hand.
Do I have to pay again to use the website?
No. One subscription covers both, and the website never charges you separately. Sign in here with the same account and everything is open. If it is not, open the app while signed in and tap Restore purchases, which re-attaches the store's record to your account.
Restoring a purchase on a new phone
Install the app, sign in to your MacroChef account, open the paywall and tap Restore purchases. You will not be charged again. This also works if you deleted and reinstalled the app.
My plan or grocery list is missing
Those live on the device until you have an account — an account is what gives them somewhere to sync to. If you planned a week signed out and then signed in, what was on that device is uploaded the first time you sign in, so nothing is lost. If you planned on a different device and never signed in there, that week is still on that device.
My training log is not on my other device
That one is deliberate. Your workout log is kept on the device and is never uploaded, never attached to your name, and never leaves the phone it was recorded on. It is not synced, which also means clearing the app's data or deleting the app removes it for good.
Changing your password, or deleting your account
Both are in Account on the website and in the Account tab in the app. Deleting removes your account and everything saved against it immediately — there is no soft delete.
Cancel an active subscription before deleting the account. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription held by Apple, because only Apple can do that.
Are the macros reliable?
They are computed from the gram weight of each ingredient against USDA reference values, not estimated and not rounded to look better. If a number looks wrong to you, send the recipe name — a recipe whose macros do not add up is a bug worth fixing, and it gets fixed.
The food photography is generated, not photographs of the cooked dish. The numbers are real; the picture is an illustration.
Is this medical or dietary advice?
No. MacroChef computes numbers and shows you recipes. It is for adults, and the calculator refuses an age under 18. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or are being treated by a dietitian, follow their advice rather than a calculator.
Privacy and your data
What we store, what we never store, and how to get it deleted is set out on the privacy page. To be sent a copy of what the server holds about you, write to macrochef@macrochef.site.
