Macros are for one serving as written. Make gives you more servings of the same size; Portion resizes one serving and moves the macros with it.

Ingredients

  • 120g (1.25 cups) rolled oats, dry
  • 100g (6 tbsp) peanut butter
  • 60g (2 scoops) whey protein, chocolate
  • 40g (2 tbsp) honey
  • 20g (2 tbsp) chia seeds
  • 15g (2 tbsp) cocoa powder
  • 60ml / 1/4 cup water, 1 tsp vanilla, pinch of salt

Method

  1. Warm the peanut butter and honey together for 20 seconds in the microwave so they stir easily.
  2. Mix the oats, whey, chia, cocoa and salt in a bowl first, dry.
  3. Pour the warm peanut butter mixture and the vanilla in and work it together with a spoon.
  4. Add the water a tablespoon at a time. Whey is thirsty and how much it needs varies by brand, so stop when it holds together under pressure.
  5. Chill the mixture 15 min before rolling. Warm it sticks to your hands and refuses to hold a ball.
  6. Roll into 12 balls with slightly damp hands.
  7. Roll a few in extra cocoa or desiccated coconut if you want to tell flavours apart in the box.

Tip: chill the mixture, not just the finished balls. Rolling warm dough is how you end up with eleven bites and a coated hand.
